Well not exactly.
Some days I get frustrated looking at how far everyone else is, and how far I still have to go to “get there.”
There are many publicists, brands, and businesses that I look up to, and it inspires and saddens me at the same time that they’re so known, and I’m just little old me.
In the world of Public Relations, it’s about what you know and who knows you.
How am I supposed to have a successful career if only my friends know me?
I spend a few (ok more than a few) moments thinking about these things, and realize that although I may not quite be “there” I’m somewhere farther than where I used to be, and that I have a ton of things to still learn.
But I have had some great opportunities to get my name and credibility out there, even if it’s just campus media or a few retweets.
I participated in a Twitter chat earlier this week that landed on YouTern’s blog.
No my name doesn’t ring bells in the hallways or cause people to go into a fit of tears when I enter a room.
But you have to be content with the bottom in order to appreciate the top.
